Tak lama dulu semangat rajin aku tiba-tiba membara.
Kenangan zaman kepala otak aku menulis lancar macam air sungai. Juga gambaran personaliti aku ketika usia aku masih mentah setahun jagung, pada usia 16 tahun.
Ataupun aku masih tidak berubah sejak itu?

Assalamualaikum and good morning to our dearest teacher, Mrs Khairul Husna and every student present in this class. May all of us will be blesed by Allah for our activity today in this blissful morning. Alright, today, as we all know, we are required to make a presentation for our Literature Component . And in this presentation we are instructed to choose any short stories or poems that are included in the Literature Component Textbook for Form 4 students, and then discuss the aspects of that certain text that attract our attention, the aspect that make us like the text. Then we shall discuss the characters that we like in that text. And lastly, we shall discuss the moral values or lsson that we have learnt from the text of our own choice. So now, I will present you on the short story 'The Necklace' authored by Guy de Maupassant.
Why do I love the story? Well, frankly, I like this story because I am a person who is into English Literature. I really love it because, it is written in English, and not to mention its style of writing, which is very beautiful. After reading this story, I begin to imitate the linguistic aspect of this story, and this has improved my English a lot.
Okay, in this story, I really admired the character Mr Loisel, the husband of Mathilde Loisel, a humble middle-class people, working as a clerk at the French Ministry of Public Instruction. Why do I like him? Well, because he is such a humle and simple man. As a middle-cclass man, he is true to himself, that is, he never indulged, or even dream of indulging in a luxurious way of life, such as fine dining, big house or dwelling place, lavish furnitures, fashionable clothings and so on, which is synonymous to the upper-class society. In fact, he is satisfied living a simple way of life. Just look at how delighted he is when having a simple soup touret while dining with his wife, and how he does not mind eating it on a table decorated with only a piece of cloth already in use for three days.
Well secondly, Mr Loisel is known as a very loyal man. How do we prove this? He never ever leave his wife alone when she find herself in trouble losing her friend's necklace. Mr Loisel tried hard to find the necklace. He even draw out all his financial savings and borrowed money from a lot of people to buy a new necklace to replace the lost one. Well it doesn't end here; He even take up to three jobs in order to repay the debt worthing thousands of francs. All of this show how loyal, and not to mention, helpful he is to his wife.
Alright, that's all for Mr Loisel. Now moving on to the moral values of 'The Necklace'.
Now, what are the moral values, a lesson that can be obtained from the story? First of all, this story teaches us that honesty is the best policy. Well, you see, as depicted in this story, Mathilde Loisel never tell the truth that she actually lost the necklace to her friend. Imagine if she told the truth to her friend, she would have known earlier that the necklace is paste, and therefore, she would not have to suffer for 10 years to repay her debts of buying a new, genuine necklace to replace the paste necklace.
Next, as I have discussed earlier, is the value of loyalty. We have to be loyal to people who are close to us and help them whenever they are in vain. Just follow the example of Mr Loisel being loyal to Madame Loisel.
Lastly, I shall stress the value of gratefulness. We have to be grateful and accept whatever type of life fate have decided upon us. After all, it is the willing of God that we were born poor of rich. This is contrary to Mathilde because she always dreamed of luxurious lifestyle and what brings a bad consequence to her.
Well, that's all for my presentation of 'The Necklace'. Last of all, thank you everybody!
Assalamualaikum warahmatullah.

Salam alaykum warahmatullah.
