As the world today goes modern, technological advancements have revolutionised the daily life of the people. One of them is the way people move around. Since the first manufacturing of car by Henry Ford in the nineteenth century, the ubiquitous vehicle is getting better and better as technology develops, as well as the active ongoing research and development of the vehicle by car manufacturer countries around the globe. The convenience of driving a car, coupled with the ever-reducing price tag they bear, becomes the driving factor for consumers to buy cars as a mean of transportation. The similar applies to other motor vehicles such as motorcycle which gains a growing number of users. Yet, the use of public transportation nowadays must be encouraged among the people in order to reduce traffic jams and preserve the environment.
First and foremost, the encouragement for the public to use more public transportation is to reduce the terrible traffic jams in the city. The problem of using car as a personal transportation prevails when a whole lot of them hit the road at the same time, causing traffic congestion. As there are vast number of cars lining up on the roads with each of them heading towards different directions, the movements of the cars are often hampered at road junctions, awaiting for their turn to move according to the traffic lights. This situation will cause the waste of precious time for a lot of people from the mostly working class, thus affecting their productivity which will then affect the economy of the nation. Other than that, such stressful situation may give rise to unwanted incidences such as traffic accident and also the infamous incident of road rage which would lead to fightings among angry and hot-tempered traffic users. Hence it is crystal clear that the campaign to use public transportations is necessary to avoid traffic jams which would negatively affects the users’ emotion and productivity.
The second reason that public transportation needs to be encouraged is to address the serious issue of pollution towards the environment. Motor vehicles such as cars and motorcycles run on fossil fuels to operate. The combustion of fossil fuels used by those vehicles release various greenhouse gases as well as other pollutants. Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide will trap heat inside the earth atmosphere thus contributing to the global warming. Some inefficient engines will also produce carbon monoxide during fuel combustion which is poisonous and causes health problems towards other people. On a bigger picture, we will see that the problem is much more serious since the number of motor vehicles are large. Therefore an even larger amount these pollutants are produced which are detrimental towards the environment. Public transports such as buses uses fossil fuels too, but when more people use public transportation, a significant number of personal transportation would be reduced. Besides that, there are other alternatives such as the light railway transit which relies on electrical energy thus do not contribute to pollution. Hence, public transportation must be used to reduce pollution towards the environment.
In conclusion, it is clearer than ever that we do need to encourage the use of public transports to reduce traffic congestion as well as reducing environmental pollution. It is hoped that this positive action will bear positive results on the environment, the people and the nation.Begitulah karangan aku mase class test semester 1 dulu.
